Homemade Granola Bars
- 4 cups oatmeal
- 1½ cups coconut, shredded
- 1 cup dried cranberries
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- ¾ cup agave
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons fat free butter
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Get your oven warmed up to 375° while adding some wax paper to the inside of your baking pan. Mix up the oatmeal and coconut then spread it out across the dish. Place the beginning of the bars in the oven for 10 minutes.
While you wait, on the stove, put the agave, brown sugar, butter, vanilla extract, and half a spoon of salt in a saucepan and let heat. Once it reaches a boil, drop the oatmeal and coconut in with the other ingredients and stir. Before putting back into the pan, add the chocolates and stir once more.
Put the entire combination back in the oven for 25 minutes. Let cool completely for up to 2.5 hours.
